Again, I’m going in circles.
I’m not one of THE bloggers (TB), the respected and sought-after writers of the modern age, who make it big time in blogosphere. I don’t intend to be one of them as I could only imagine how life is both sweet and painful for them. I’ve been thinking of how difficult it could be for the bloggers to write for their audience who are often under the invisibility cloak. To be expected to write each day. To be interesting in the mainstream kind of way. (Wow rhyming)
Many would actually not think twice of trading CAREERS with them. Imagine the freebies, the attention, the parties, exclusive invites, and (insert lavish and posh scenes here). But we are only seeing one side of the coin. We don’t realize that more than merely partying, they exert the extra effort to push their pens and drive almost-addicted and stalker-ish readers back to their sites. It’s not as easy as typing as they think. They need to censor and proofread. If they skip this part, they risking negative publicity to go viral.
Unlike laid-back pages like this, they couldn’t write boring topics like what you are reading. I could write freely because I have no intentions of pleasing anyone. Going back, they have a sui generis celebrity status. They have to maintain that image because new waves of bloggers are mushrooming. So, they need to keep their places on their pedestals. There’s heavy competition out there.
Imagine being the writer/editor/photographer/designer? It’s a tough circle they are in. A circle that is not as endless as it expands. The band is getting thinner. I have friends who are having the time of their lives living in their blog world. At times, it’s a creative distraction for those single people who have no one to spend their lull times with. For the attached, it is a way of broadening their schema. It’s a meet-and-greet space to the blogger and the world outside of the romantic love affair.
It’s difficult to leave a raw sketch of your mind on the dashboard. They can’t afford to risk it.
I only have good words for them.
I’m in vertigo.
